Cassiel, a well known German Tango-Blogger, wrote at the 9th of June an article about the new Calo Transfers, you can get at the download store of TangoTunes. The article is in German but really worth to read and highly recommendet!

Mai 2016 - Amerkung DJ-Salzer] veröffentlichte TangoTunes ein weiteres Paket mit 44 Audio-Tracks (Das Orchester von Miguel Caló – Aufnahmen von 1941 - 1943) in der Reihe „GoldenEars“. Die Ausgangslage bei diesem Orchester sollte allgemein bekannt sein. Es gibt bislang eine relativ ordentliche Sammlung der Titel dieses Orchesters auf CD in der Reliquias-Serie (herausgegeben von EMI, der Rechtsnachfolgerin des damaligen Labels Odeon, bei dem Miguel Caló unter Vertrag war). [...]"

"In diesem Jahr feiern wir 100 Jahre La Cumparsita: der bekannteste Tango der Welt, das Symbol für das ganze Genre und heute überall auf der Welt das Signal für das Ende der Milonga. Das Stück geht auf kompositorische Ideen von Gerardo Matos Rodríguez zurück (der Arme hat sich die Rechte nie gesichert) und wurde von Roberto Firpo vervollständigt. Von Firpo soll auch die älteste bekannte Aufnahme stammen (1916), aber die Historiker sind sich da nicht sicher. Kaum ein Orchester hat dieses Stück nicht aufgenommen. Und jeder Tänzer hat es schon tausendmal getanzt."

Michael Lavocah is known as the author of two great Tango books: "Tango Stories" and "Anibal Troilo" - but also as a good international Tango-DJ/Musicalizador.
